Synopsis
The delicious misadventures of a legendary cynical orange tabby
Garfield, an irritable orange tabby cat, was born in the chaotic kitchen of an Italian restaurant. He has an insatiable appetite for lasagna and he always manages to find a way to enjoy the delectable delights of Italian cuisine. The story revolves around Garfield's father, Vic, and offers glimpses into Garfield's mischievous kittenhood, unveiling many untold aspects of this indulgent feline's life. With his sarcastic and cunning nature, as well as his lovable laziness, Garfield's latest escapade delves into some family conflicts amidst his snarky remarks.

Chris Pratt voices the iconic feline lasagna lover in animated film from Chicken Little director
Garfield is an upcoming animated film directed by Mark Dindal for Sony Pictures Releasing. It is based on the comic strip of the same name from Jim Davis about an orange tabby cat known for his love of lasagna, his sarcastic personality and his lazy nature. Davis is an executive producer on the film while other producers include John Cohen, Steven P. Wegner, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Tom Jacomb and Namit Malhotra. Unlike earlier Garfield movies that combined live-action and CGI, the 2024 adaptation takes a fully animated approach. Taking the director's seat for this project is Mark Dindal whose previous directing efforts include Cats Don't Dance, The Emperor's New Groove, and Chicken Little. David Reynolds, the talented co-screenwriter behind the script of Finding Nemo, handles the screenplay for Garfield.
Chris Pratt takes on the voice of the charismatic orange fur ball, portraying the lead role of Garfield. Joining the cast as Vic, Garfield's father, is the legendary and unmistakable voice of Samuel L. Jackson. The talented ensemble also features Nicholas Hoult, Ving Rhames, Hannah Waddingham, as well as Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Cecily Strong, adding to the expanded cast.
