James Mangold takes over the reins from Steven Spielberg to helm fifth Indiana Jones entry
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is an action-adventure film directed by James Mangold for Disney. Mangold co-wrote the screenplay along with Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Jurassic Park co-writer, David Koepp. Dial of Destiny is the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones film series and is the first entry to not be directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg. It also marks the first Indy film to not have a story written by George Lucas as Spielberg and Lucas both serve as executive producers instead. Original Indiana Jones composer and Hollywood icon, John Williams, scores the fifth installment. Original producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall produce the film alongside Simon Emanuel.
The film stars Harrison Ford donning the celebrated fedora once again as the titular Indiana Jones while John Rhys-Davies also reprises his role as Sallah from previous films. Phoebe Waller-Bridge stars as Indy’s goddaughter, Helena Shaw with Mads Mikkelsen portraying former Nazi Jürgen Voller. Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook and Olivier Richters round out the cast.
