Iconic game franchise gets CGI-animated adaptation for the big screen
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is an animated adventure film directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic for Universal Pictures. The duo were responsible for writing 2018’s Teen Titans Go! To the Movies where Horvath served as director. The Super Mario Bros. Movie marks Jelenic’s directorial debut.
The plot of the movie is based on Nintendo's beloved Super Mario Bros. video game franchise featuring Mario the plumber and his group of companions. It is the third cinematic adaptation of the video games. Chris Pratt leads as the voice of Mario while Charlie Day voices his loyal brother Luigi.
