The third season of Netflix’s massive hit TV series features new showrunner
Bridgerton season 3 is the upcoming season of the period drama TV series created by Chris Van Dusen for Netflix. It is based on the Julia Quinn novel series of the same name. Shonda Rhimes of Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal fame executive produces the series as her production company, Shondaland, handles its production with CVD Productions. The series, named after the Bridgerton family, is based in the cutthroat world of London's high society during the Regency era. It follows the social season where young individuals from noble and affluent families are presented to society with the intention of finding suitable partners for marriage.
New showrunner, Jess Brownell, steps in for series creator Van Dusen who exited the role following season 2. Brownell previously worked on a number of Bridgerton episodes along with working on such TV shows as Scandal and Inventing Anna. The first two seasons of Bridgerton broke viewing records for Netflix as it became one of the most popular titles on the platform. A prequel limited series following a young Queen Charlotte premiered in May 2023.
Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington and Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton lead the third season of Bridgerton. Other cast members include Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Lorraine Ashbourne as Mrs. Varley, Simone Ashley as Kate, Viscountess Bridgerton, Jonathan Bailey as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, Harriet Cains as Philippa Finch, Bessie Carter as Prudence Featherington, Hannah Dodd as Francesca Bridgerton, Ruth Gemmell as Violet, Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton, Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton, Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton, Polly Walker as Portia, Dowager Baroness Featherington and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown. Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips and James Phoon join the season in their respective roles as Marcus Anderson, Lord Debling and Harry Dankworth.
