Synopsis
How Elizabeth Zott found a new purpose in life through hosting "Supper at Six" cooking show
Elizabeth Zott, who was laid off from her job and burdened with household duties, feels defeated and without hope when she discovers she is pregnant. However, her life takes a turn when she is offered the opportunity to host a cooking show called "Supper at Six". Elizabeth jumps at the chance and becomes invigorated with fresh ideas and energy. She uses the platform to share her expertise in cooking science with housewives across the nation.

Lessons in Chemistry season 1 is the first season for Apple TV+'s drama series from showrunner Lee Eisenberg. It is adapted from Bonnie Garmus' book of the same name. The series is developed by a team of writers and producers including six-time Emmy nominee, Eisenberg, who co-wrote screenplays for films such as Bad Teacher and Good Boys, and also co-developed the Apple TV+ series Little America. Lessons in Chemistry is written by Susannah Grant, co-creator of the 2019 miniseries Unbelievable, and writer of the film Erin Brockovich. The show is executive produced by Brie Larson, Eisenberg and Grant as well as Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Natalie Sandy.
The lead role in Lessons in Chemistry is played by Brie Larson who won an Oscar for Best Actress in 2015 for her performance in Room. Lewis Pullman, known for his role in Top Gun: Maverick, stars as Elizabeth's love interest, Calvin Evans. Other cast members include Aja Naomi King as Harriet Slone, Stephanie Koenig as Fran Frask, Patrick Walker as Wakely, Thomas Mann as Boryweitz, Kevin Sussman as Walter, Beau Bridges as Wilson, Ashley Monique Clark as Martha Wakeley and Derek Cecil as Dr. Robert Donatti.
