In the waning days of the High Republic Era, the power of the dark side grows stronger. Even amidst the galaxy's prosperity, the Sith face dwindling numbers and marginalization. Set a century before the events of The Phantom Menace, the opulent era is ruled by peaceful Jedi, yet a mysterious presence lurks in the shadows. The Acolyte revolves around the union of a Jedi Master and a figure from his past, who are selected for a crucial task of unraveling a string of crimes.

The Acolyte season 1 is the upcoming season for the Disney+ galactic mystery-thriller TV series created by Leslye Headland. It draws inspiration from the vast Star Wars universe originally crafted by George Lucas. Set in the twilight of the High Republic era, before the events of Episode I - The Phantom Menace, the series connects to the overall Star Wars universe. Headland, known for her work on the romantic comedy Sleeping with Other People and co-creating the Netflix series Russian Doll, takes the helm as an executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. Amandla Stenberg leads the cast of The Acolyte accompanied by a talented ensemble. Lee Jung-jae assumes the role of a Jedi Master, while Dafne Keen and Charlie Barnett bring young Jedi characters to life. Rebecca Henderson shines as Vernestra Rwoh, a remarkable Jedi Knight prodigy. The stellar cast also includes Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, Margarita Levieva and Joonas Suotamo. Notably, Suotamo, renowned for portraying Chewbacca in the sequel films, adds a thrilling twist by playing the first-ever live-action Wookiee Jedi in The Acolyte.
