Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return for the second season of HBO's hit series
The Last of Us season 2 is the second season of HBO's post-apocalyptic drama TV series from Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. It is based on the popular video game series co-created by Druckmann and Bruce Straley which originally released in 2013. Set in the aftermath of a global pandemic triggered by a widespread fungal infection, the series follows smuggler Joel who is tasked with transporting an immune teenager named Ellie to safety. The first season of The Last of Us was a massive hit for HBO, with its first episode becoming the second-largest debut for the network since 2010, after House of the Dragon. It was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey also earning acting nominations.
Peter Hoar, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann returned to direct episodes of season 2. Additional directors include Loki's Kate Herron, Succession's Mark Mylod, Perry Mason's Nina Lopez-Corrado and Watchmen's Stephen Williams.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie, respectively, in season 2. Kaitlyn Dever portrays Abby. Young Mazino plays Jesse. Gabriel Luna also returns as Joel's younger brother, Tommy, while Rutina Wesley portrays Tommy's wife, Maria. Danny Ramirez portrays Manny. Ariela Barer plays Mel.
