A royal tale of Queen Charlotte’s life leading up to the throne

The prequel spin-off to Bridgerton, this series delves into Queen Charlotte’s younger days. The story follows Queen Charlotte after her marriage with King George, as she maneuvers the drama, power, and politics that come with being a member of the royal family. Lady Danbury and Young Violet Bridgerton also make an appearance in this royal affair.

Shonda Rhimes unravels the glorious life of Queen Charlotte in this Bridgerton prequel

Set in the pre-Bridgerton era, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a limited series that follows the life of Queen Charlotte as she prepares for the throne. The series is produced under the banner of Shondaland, the same production house that created Grey's Anatomy, Bridgerton and How To Get Away With Murder. Shonda Rhimes serves as the executive producer on the series. This riveting period drama is directed by Tom Verica, who’s also worked on several other hit Netflix series such as Inventing Anna, The Umbrella Academy, and Bridgerton.

The prequel includes familiar faces as Golda Rosheuval reprises her original role as Queen Charlotte, and Adjoa Andoh returns as Lady Danbury, the sharp tongued ambassador. Actor India Amarteifo joins the cast to portray the young Queen Charlotte, and Arsema Thomas appears as the young Lady Danbury. The extended cast includes Ruth Gemmell, Hugh Sachs, Michelle Fairley and Richard Cunningham.
