What to know

Colin and Penelope are the focus of Netflix’s third season of their hit series Bridgerton

Bridgerton Season 3 is the upcoming third season of the historical fiction romance series produced by Shondaland for Netflix. The series is created by Chris Van Dusen, and is based on the book series of the same name by author Julia Quinn. The series takes place in a fictional time during the Regency era in Great Britain, focusing on the noble Bridgerton family and each members’ quest for love. The first season followed the story of Daphne and Simon, while the second follows that of Anthony and Kate. The third season sees Colin Bridgerton brought to the fore, who has no idea his friend and neighbour Penelope has been secretly pining for him.

Season 3 of Bridgerton sees many of the old faces return, including Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, the third son in the family. He is joined by Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Colin’s friend turned love interest. Season 3 also sees Golda Rosheuvel return to her role as Queen Charlotte, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Jonathan Bailey as Anthony, Simone Ashley as Kate, Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton, Claudia Jessie as Eloise, amongst others. Phoebe Dynevor, who played Daphne in seasons one and two, does not appear in season 3.
