Synopsis

Jocelyn navigates the manipulative music scene in LA to gain fame

After suffering a breakdown that causes her to cancel her tour, rising pop star Jocelyn tries to get her career back on course while navigating the manipulative music scene in LA and a relationship with cult leader and self-help guru Tedros.

The Idol Season 1 is the first season in the drama series produced by HBO Entertainment and A24. Award-winning Canadian musician The Weeknd co-creates the series alongside Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, and writer Reza Fahim. The six-episode season features original music by the Weeknd, K-Pop star Jennie Kim from Blackpink, producer Mike Dean, and Moses Sumney, amongst others. 

The Idol stars Lily-Rose Depp as the up-and-coming pop star Jocelyn, and the Weeknd stars as the cult leader and self-help guru Tedros. They are joined by Dan Levy as Jocelyn’s agent, Hank Azaria as her father, and Eli Roth as her uncle. Star musicians also feature heavily, including Jennie Kim as Anys, Moses Sumney, Mike Dean, Troye Silvan, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Tunde Adebimpe, and more.
