The full cast and crew return for Disney’s second season of in-depth hypothetical explorations
What If…? Season 2 is the second season of the animated superhero sci-fi anthology series produced by Marvel Studios for Disney+. The series is based on the Marvel comics of the same title that explore what would have happened if key events in Marvel history had gone differently. The season runs for nine episodes and is created by AC Bradley, with Bryan Andrews as director. Season 2 takes place within Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Jeffrey Wright once more narrates the series as The Watcher. This season once again features Marvel favourites Nick Fury, the Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Hank Pym, voiced by their live-action counterparts Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, and Michael Douglas, respectively. Benedict Cumberbatch once again returns to voice the caped sorcerer Dr. Strange, as does Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter, Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Josh Brolin as the terrifying villain Thanos, and Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster. Season 2 also features Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther in one of his last performances before his death in 2020.
