Synopsis

Trapped in ice for 100 years, Aang must return to restore balance to the Four Nations

Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a world where many humans can wield the power of the elements. However, only the avatar can control all four. This gives them the responsibility to maintain balance across the four nations. But when Avatar Aang gets frozen in ice for 100 years, the world is shaken by the rise of the Fire Nation empire. Once Aang is awoken by Katara and her brother, they embark on a mission across the world.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 1  is a live-action fantasy television show based on the animated series by Nickelodeon Animation Studios. The live action adaptation is created and developed by Albert Kim for Netflix. 

Avatar Aang, the last known airbender, returns to life after being frozen for a century. Playing him is Gordon Cormier, a young Canadian actor known for his work in The Stand, a fantasy series based on a novel by Stephen King. Other cast members of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 1 include Kiwawentiio Tarbell, who plays Katara, Ian Ousley, who plays Sokka, Dallas Liu, who plays Zuko, and Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Fire Lord Ozai. James Sie who voiced the fan-favourite character of the cabbage merchant in the animated series, returns for the live-action version. Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 1 was released on Netflix on February 22, 2024.
