A young couple is set to be wed and through their union, the society around them will change dramatically. The love story of Queen Charlotte and King George is a tale of drama, intrigue, romance, and power. As the young Queen maneuvers herself in the court she learns how to rule as a monarch and love as a person. Young Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury also make appearances on the scene as Charlotte ascends to the throne intent on making things different.

Shonda Rhimes brings a Bridgerton spin-off to Netflix
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a period drama limited series. The show is a prequel to the hit television show Bridgerton and is created by Shonda Rhimes for Netflix. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is directed by Tom Verica, who has directed episodes of Inventing Anna, The Umbrella Academy, and Bridgerton.
Golda Rosheuval returns as Queen Charlotte, reprising her role from the original show. She is joined by India Amarteifo who portrays the young Queen Charlotte. Adjoa Andoh portrays Lady Danbury, as a quick-witted ambassador. The younger version of her character is portrayed by Arsema Thomas. Ruth Gemmell, Hugh Sachs, Michelle Fairley and Richard Cunningham round out the cast. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story was released on May 4, 2023 on Netflix.
