Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks produce another follow-up to Band of Brothers
Masters of the Air is a WWII drama series based on the book 'Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought The Air War Against Nazi Germany' by Donald L. Miller. The series is a continuation of other WWII dramas such as Band of Brothers and The Pacific. The show is created by John Shiban and John Orloff. Between them, the pair have worked on shows such as The X-Files, Breaking Bad, and Band of Brothers. Masters of the Air is produced by Playtone, Amblin Television, and Apple Studios. The show counts Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman among its executive producers.
Masters of the Air features a large ensemble cast led by Austin Butler in the role of Major Gale Cleven. Butler is best known for his performance as Elvis in the eponymous movie. Award-winning actors Barry Keoghan and Ncuti Gatwa star as Lt. Curtis Biddick and 2nd Lt. Robert Daniels. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald actor Callum Turner stars as Major John Egan. The cast also includes Harry Crosby, Fionn O’Shea, Adam Long, Louis Greatorex, Nikolai Kinski, Kai Alexander, Nate Mann, Raff Law, James Murray, Tommy Jessop, Freddy Carter, Oaklee Pendergast, and more. Masters of the Air was released on Apple TV+ on January 26, 2024.
