Synopsis
This true crime story tackles one of America’s most highly publicized trials in a shocking murder case
In 1989, Lyle and Erik Menendez were charged with the murder of their wealthy parents, Jose and Kitty. The brothers claimed that the murder was an act of self-defense after years of abuse of all forms. Some claimed however that the brothers, 21 and 18 at the time, killed their parents for the inheritance. Following the murder, the investigation, and the trial, the show brings to life one of the most infamous courtroom cases in American history.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is a true crime drama television series. It is created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the pair who are responsible for Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The show is both a follow-up to that show while telling a standalone story. Ian Brennan is known as a writer on television shows such as Ratched, Halston, and The Watcher. Ryan Murphy is a writer, producer, and director who is the creator of American Horror Stories, 9-1-1, and The Politician.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story features Cooper Koch in the role of Erik Menendez while Nicholas Alexander Chavez plays Lyle Menendez. Cooper Koch has starred in movies such as Swallowed and They/Them. Nicholas Alexander Chavez has starred in General Hospital and Crushed. Nathan Lee stars in the series as Dominick Dunne, a reporter who covered the story.
