Synopsis
At the heart of this race-to-the-finish mystery is a family story of loss, love, and liberty. Jess Valenzuela must find herself by discovering her past and unearthing the relic she recalls her father speaking about. Luckily she’s not alone in her task. Roaming across the Americas with her friends in tow, the DREAMer is after the map, the clues, the codes, and the codices. On her tail is the black market antiquities dealer Billie Pearce, who has her eyes trained on the same treasure. The group will have to be cunning and clever to overcome the experienced relic-hunter but they have one thing on their side: Jess Valenzuela.

National Treasure: Edge of History is an adventure mystery television series based on the National Treasure film franchise. Season 1 of the show is directed by filmmaker Mira Nair and executive produced by franchise veteran, Jerry Bruckheimer. Cormac and Marianne Wibberly write the script for the show after having both written on the National Treasure movies. Season 1 of the television series features the story of Jess Valenzuela portrayed by Lisette Alexis. The show faces the topics of identity and patriotism from a new perspective with the casting of a Latina lead, a first for the franchise. Up against her is the villain, Billie Pearce played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Both Justin Bartha and Harvey Keitel are reprising their roles from the movie franchise as Riley Poole and Agent Peter Sadusky respectively. National Treasure: Edge of History was released on Disney+ on December 14th 2022.
