Synopsis
A mysterious tale set in the High Republic era when the Jedi are in the ascendency
In the High Republic era, the Jedi are the haughty and enlightened guardians of peace. Their robes glisten gold and white, the symbol of purity and good. In the underground, a new force is rising, a darkness is growing. The Acolyte follows the story of an ardent dark side devotee whose journey reveals the shadowy counterculture below the light of the Jedi council who cannot imagine the darkness that is forming.

The Acolyte Season 1 is an upcoming mystery thriller television series set in the Star Wars universe that is being developed for Disney+. The Acolyte Season 1 is an eight-part series written and created by Leslye Headland and Rayne Roberts from Lucasfilm. The Acolyte is a passion project of long-time Star Wars fan Leslye Headland who pitched the idea to Kathleen Kennedy as a female-centric story set a hundred years before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Amandla Stenberg is the lead in Season 1 of The Acolyte. Joining her is Jodie Turner Smith, Carrie Anne Moss and Lee Jung-jae amongst others.
