Synopsis
An illicit affair in 1980s small-town Texas comes to a violent end
When Candy, a 1980s housewife in a small town in Texas, USA becomes disillusioned with her life, she starts an illicit affair with her married next door neighbour, Allan. But things take a turn for the nasty — and the result is bloodshed.

Love & Death is based on a gruesome true story
Love & Death is an American crime drama limited series produced by Lionsgate TV for HBO Max. The limited series is based on the true story of the 1980 brutal murder of Betty Gore, allegedly by her neighbour Candy Montgomery, who was having an affair with her husband, Allan. Author Jim Atkinson wrote a book, Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, which heavily influenced the series. Lesli Linka Glatter directs the series, after previously directing episodes of Mad Men, Twin Peaks, and Homeland. David E. Kelley writes the screenplay for Love & Death, having previously penned the scripts for Anatomy of a Scandal and The Lincoln Lawyer. Nicole Kidman, David E. Kelley, and Lesli Linka Glatter executive produce the series.
Elizabeth Olsen plays the starring role in Love & Death, portraying the progressively unhinged Candy Montgomery. Allan Gore is portrayed by Jesse Plemons (The Power of the Dog), and Lily Rabe plays his wife, Betty Gore. Additional cast members include Patrick Fugit, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey, and Krysten Ritter.
