Netflix and Hasbro create an animated series based on the classic game Magic

Magic: The Gathering Season 1 is the upcoming first season in the fantasy animated series produced by Netflix. The series is based on a tabletop card-trading game of the same name developed by Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast. The game revolves around beings with magical powers who are both heroes and villains, the Planewalkers. Award-winning executive producer Jeff Kline runs the series’ first season. His writing team consists of Nicole Dubuc, Russell Sommer, Dan Frey, and Taneka Stotts.

Brandon Routh voices Gideon Jura, the series main character, after previously portraying Superman in Superman Returns in 2006.
