After Carmine Falcone’s death, Oswald ‘Oz’ Cobblepot (aka The Penguin) moves up the chain to take his place. However, the many in Gotham’s underworld also want a shot at more power, and The Penguin must defend his position or lose it.
The Penguin Season 1 is the upcoming first and only season in the crime drama series produced by DC Studios and follows the story of one of Batman's most notorious villains: The Penguin. The character first appeared in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and the series takes place one week after the events in the film. Lauren LeFranc acts as showrunner and writer for all of the series’ episodes, while Matt Reeves executive produces.
Colin Farrell portrays Oswald ‘Oz’ Cobblepot (aka The Penguin) in the series, after first debuting the role in The Batman. He is joined by Cristin Milioti, who plays the late crime lord Carmine Falcone’s daughter, Sofia Falcone, and Michael Zegen, who plays her brother, Alberto. Rival crime lord Salvatore Maroni is played by Clancy Brown, and the rest of the expanded cast includes Rhenzy Feliz, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Kelly, Scott Cohen, James Madio, and others.
The Penguin will be released on Max in the US in Fall 2024. The date and platform for the series' UK release has not yet been announced.
