Despicable Me 4 is an upcoming computer-animated spy adventure movie set within the Despicable Me film series. The movie is a direct sequel to Despicable Me 3 and is the 15th movie from the animation studio, Illumination. The movie is directed by Chris Renaud, creator of the Despicable Me franchise and director of the first two movies. The movie is co-directed by Patrick Delage, an animator on the films Hercules and Tarzan. Mike White is the screenwriter for Despicable Me 4 having previously written the movie Migration.

Pierre Coffin returns to voice the Minions. Will Ferrell stars as the new villain Maxime Le Mal while Sofia Vergara voices Valentina, his partner in crime. Joey King, Stephen Colbert, and Chloe Fineman are also in the cast.

In Despicable Me 4, Gru and Lucy have a baby boy called Gru Jr who is tormenting his father in every way. The arrival of Gru Jr. in the family suggests a time jump from the last movie.
