Synopsis

A mad-scientist brings back his daughter from the dead in this Frankenstein-style story

Bella, a young woman is given another shot at life by her scientist father who uses the brain of an unborn child to reawaken her soul. Curious and eager to learn as much as she can about the world, Bella breaks free from her father's care, and sets off to explore the world with a charming lawyer by her side.

Emma Stone & Mark Ruffalo star in this Frankenstein style feature Poor Things.

Poor Things is a science fiction film based on an Alasdair Gray novel of the same name. The film is directed by the Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, best known for his 2015 film The Lobster, starring Collin Ferrell. Tony McNamara, the writer of Cruella has signed on to write and adapt the screenplay of the film. 

The film stars the Oscar winning actor Emma Stone as Bella Baxter, the young and eager woman back from the dead. She is supported by Mark Ruffalo as Duncan Wedderbum, the charming but deceptive lawyer, and Willem Dafoe as Dr. Godwin Baxter (Bella's scientist father). Comedians Ramy Youssef and Jerrod Carmichael join the cast as Max McCandles and Harry Astley. Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley, Kathryn Hunter, Suzy Bemba, and Wayne Brett round out the rest of the cast.
