Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the start of a new Transformers trilogy
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a science fiction action movie directed by Steven Caple Jr. This is the seventh installment in the overall series and the film picks up in 1994 Brooklyn following the aftermath of what happens in Transformers: The Last Knight and Bumblebee. The movie is the first of a new trilogy, focusing on a war between Autobots, Maximals and Terrorcons. The movie is also popularly known as Transformers 7.
Loosely based on the popular animated TV show, Transformers: Beast Wars, the film’s original story has been written by Joby Harol. Parts of this story were later edited and rewritten by Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber. Michael Bay, the director of the first live-action Transformers, returns to the popular franchise as a producer for this film.
The film includes a star-studded cast with Oscar winning actress Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones fame, and SNL comedian Pete Davidson amongst other popular names. The extended cast features actors Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Velez, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen and Ron Perlman. Colman Domingo dons the role of legendary Transformers villain, Unicorn, who was originally voiced by Orson Welles.
