What is Hit Man about?
Hit Man is an upcoming neo-noir action comedy film starring Glen Powell as a fake hit man who helps cops find killers. The movie stars Adria Arjona as the female lead, and Glen's primary love interest. Loosely based on a true story, the movie, tells the story of Gary, an unsuspecting professor cum Hit Man, who lands himself in trouble by accidentally falling for one of his clients.

Yes, Hit Man is loosely inspired by a Texas Monthly story by Skip Hollandsworth. Glen Powell's character, Gary Johnson, is based on a real man who worked as a fake contractor for the police. However, the movie has taken its creative liberty in portraying the multiple fake identities that Gary presumes for his job.
Did Glen Powell write the screenplay for the movie?
In addition to starring as the lead, Glen Powell, also co-wrote the script for the film alongside director/screenwriter, Richard Linklater. The director responsible for the Before Sunrise trilogy, Boyhood, and School of Rock. Richard Linklater gushed about his experience on co-writing and directing Powell for the film in an interview with Netflix Tudum, "It was Glen who really ran with those false identities that Gary creates for each of his cases, The real Gary did slight disguises, but not to the extent that we see in the film. I was like, ‘Should we really do a Russian accent?’ But Glen just pushed all of that to the max, and I love how it came out."
Will Hit Man be releasing in cinemas?
Hit Man will only be releasing in select theatres in India on 25th May, 2024. The movie will also release for streaming on Netflix India on 7th June 2024.
