Despite many incredible roles before and after, many fans will know Giancarlo Esposito as the legendary villain Gus Fring from “Breaking Bad” (2009–2011), a role he reprised for the series “Better Call Saul” (2017–2022). His television career has also included roles in series such as “Dear White People” (2017–2019), “The Mandalorian” (2019–2023), “The Boys” (2019–), “Godfather of Harlem” (2019–2023), “Westworld” (2016), “The Gentlemen” (2024), “Parish” (2024), and “The Residence” (2025). A truly prolific actor, his early work on the big screen saw him team up with iconic director Spike Lee for movies such as “Do the Right Thing” (1989), “Mo’ Better Blues” (1990), “Jungle Fever” (1991), and “Malcolm X” (1992). He also starred in the Jim Jarmusch movie, “Night on Earth” (1991), the crime classic “The Usual Suspects” (1995), and Michael Mann’s celebrated biopic “Ali” (2001). Esposito has had roles in movies such as “Okja” (2017), “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” (2023)  “Abigail” (2024), “Megalopolis” (2024), “MaXXXine” (2024), and “The Electric State” (2025). No stranger to a big-budget epic, he was the villain Sidewinder in “Captain America: Brave New World” (2025). He lent his likeness and voiced the character “El Presidente” in the video game “Far Cry 6” (2021).
