Sean Byrne's directorial breakout was the delightfully twisted "The Loved Ones" (2009), a prom-night horror film that landed him the People's Choice Award at TIFF's Midnight Madness. He followed it up with "The Devil's Candy" (2015), another horror film about a serial killer with a devilish secret and haunting obsession. In his latest project, "Dangerous Animals" (2025), Byrne tells the tale of a shark-obsessed serial killer played by Jai Courtney, who finally reveals the true monster of the open ocean -- and in many ways, it's not what you think.
