Twice winner of the Laurence Olivier Award, British actor Bertie Carvel is an acclaimed on stage performer who famously starred in “Matilda the Musical” (2010–) and the play “Ink” (2017). His career on screen is defined by his television roles, most notably starring as Adam Dalgliesh in the eponymous series “Dalgliesh” (2021–) and Tony Blair in “The Crown” (2022–2023). He appeared in Danny Boyle’s “Babylon” (2014) before going on to a lead role in “Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell” (2015). He made guest appearances in shows such as “The Pale Horse” (2020), “Baghdad Central” (2020), and “The Sister” (2020). Carvel stars as Prince Baelor Targaryen in the Game of Thrones series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” (2026). While the majority of his on screen appearances have been for television, he has lent his considerable skill to the movies “Les Miserables” (2012) and “The Tragedy of Macbeth” (2021).
