Comedian, actress, and writer Janelle James is best known for her role as Ava Coleman in the hit series “Abbott Elementary” (2021–). She has since had a series of voice acting roles in animated series such as “Luca & Bertie” (2022), “Star Trek: Lower Decks” (2023), and “Monsters at Work” (2024). She had a main role as Queen of Fables in the series “Kite Man: Hell Yeah” (2024) and is the narrator of the kids series “Super Duper Bunny League” (2025). James was a writer and star of the dark comedy show “Black Monday” (2020–2021) and has had multiple stand-up specials. She made her feature film debut in the movie “Tom of Your Life” (2022) before going on to star in movies such as “The Garfield Movie” (2024) and “One of Them Days” (2025).
