Christopher McQuarrie directs star Tom Cruise in the first of a two-part finale of the Mission: Impossible franchise

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is an action-spy thriller written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie for Paramount Pictures. Based on the espionage TV series from the 1960s with the same name, Dead Reckoning Part One is the seventh film in the Mission: Impossible saga and serves as the first part to a two-part finale with the concluding sequel set to release on June 28, 2024. McQuarrie has frequently collaborated with franchise star, Tom Cruise, on a number of projects including Jack Reacher and The Mummy, however he is best known for his work on the Mission: Impossible films having written and directed four of them – Rogue Nation in 2015, Fallout in 2018 and Dead Reckoning Parts One and Two.

Ving Rhames (who has also appeared in every film), Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson all reprise their roles as Luther Stickell, Benji Dunn, and Ilsa Faust, respectively. Joining the franchise are Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham and Esai Morales.
