Synopsis

Veteran detective faces unusual challenges as he investigates a real estate agent's murder

Nichols is an experienced detective with a lot of experience. He is tasked with investigating the murder of a real estate agent, but the case proves to be more challenging than he initially thought. Despite his expertise, there's something unusual about this particular case that makes it more complicated. As he unravels the facts, Nichols is forced to examine his own life while trying to solve the perplexing murder that he's been hired to investigate.

Academy Award winner Benicio del Toro stars as hardened detective in Netflix original crime film

Reptile is a crime thriller film co-written and directed by Grant Singer for Netflix. The film marks the feature film debut of Singer who is a prominent music video director, having worked with such names as The Weeknd, Sky Ferreira, Lorde and Sam Smith. He also directed the tour documentary, Shawn Mendes: In Wonder, in 2020. Singer co-wrote the screenplay for Reptile alongside Benjamin Brewer. Mike Gioulakis handles the film's cinematography after having executed the cinematography on a number of popular projects including 2014's It Follows, three of M. Night Shyamalan's films in Split, Glass and Old, as well as Jordan Peele's Us. Reptile’s producers include Molly Smith, Trent and Thad Luckinbill with star Benicio del Toro and Rachel Smith executive producing. 

Benicio del Toro portrays the lead role of detective Nichols. He previously won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor with 2001's Traffic. He is part of a talented ensemble cast including Justin Timberlake, Alicia Silverstone, Michael Pitt as Eli Phillips, Ato Essandoh as Dan Cleary, Frances Fisher as Camille Grady, Eric Bogosian, Domenick Lombardozzi, Karl Glusman, Matilda Lutz, Owen Teague as Rudy Rackozy, Catherine Dyer as Deena Allen, Mike Pniewski, producer Thad Luckinbill and Sky Ferreira.
