Synopsis
Robert McCall becomes the protector of his friends against Italy's criminal underworld
Robert McCall has been trying to reconcile with the murderous acts he has committed in the past while taking comfort in seeking justice for those who are oppressed. While staying in Southern Italy, he realizes that his new acquaintances are being manipulated by the local criminal organizations. When the situation becomes life-threatening, McCall realizes that he must take on the mafia and become the protector of his friends.

The Equalizer 3 is a vigilante-action film directed by Antoine Fuqua for Sony Pictures. Based on the TV series of the same name from the 1980s, the film is the third and final installment in the Antoine Fuqua-directed The Equalizer trilogy. Fuqua has directed every entry in the series while Richard Wenk penned the trilogy’s screenplays. Fuqua has previously directed Academy Award winner Denzel Washington in four other films: 2001’s Training Day (which earned Washington his second Oscar after 1989’s Glory), The Magnificent Seven in 2016 and The Equalizer and its sequel in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Fuqua and Washington are also producers on the film along with Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.
Denzel Washington returns as lead Robert McCall, the former CIA officer-turned-vigilante. He reunites with Dakota Fanning after almost twenty years as the pair starred in Man on Fire in 2004. The film also stars Tunisian singer and actress Sonia Ben Ammar, revered Italian actor Remo Girone, Andrea Dodero, Eugenio Mastrandrea, Andrea Scarduzio, Salvatore Ruocco, Daniele Perrone and Gaia Scodellaro.
