Colin Farrell reprises his role from 2022’s The Batman in Max miniseries
The Penguin is a crime thriller miniseries created by Lauren LeFranc for Max. It is based on the DC Comics character of the same name and focuses on Penguin’s journey to dominance within Gotham City's criminal realm. The miniseries serves as a spin-off from The Batman which was released in 2022 and is set one week following the events of the film. Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, is one of the executive producers on The Penguin along with LeFranc, star Colin Farrell, Dylan Clark, Daniel Pipski, Adam Kassan, Craig Zobel and Bill Carraro. It consists of eight episodes with LeFranc writing the first and last episodes and Zobel directing its initial three episodes.
Colin Farrell returns as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/Penguin, a burgeoning underground crime lord. Cristin Milioti portrays the role of Sofia Falcone, the daughter of the deceased mob boss Carmine Falcone, with Michael Zegen playing her brother Alberto Falcone. Clancy Brown stars as Salvatore Maroni, a rival crime leader. The ensemble cast includes Rhenzy Feliz in a lead role, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Theo Rossi, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau and David H. Holmes.
