あらすじ
７歳程度の知能しかない中年男性サムはスターバックスで働き、ホームレス女性が出産した自分の娘、ルーシー・ダイアモンドと幸せに暮らしていた。しかし、ソーシャル・ワーカーに７歳になったルーシーは彼の知能を超えてしまい父親として養育能力がないと判断され、施設で保護されることになる。失望した彼は法廷で闘う決意を固め、エリート弁護士のリタに依頼したがとても不利な裁判だった。
