시놉시스
X맨, 슈퍼맨, 배트맨, 스파이더맨이 가지고 있던 모든 능력에 누구도 건드릴 수 없는 독특한 성격을 겸비한 핸콕은 사람들을 도와주는 슈퍼 히어로지만 과격하고 예측 불가능한 행동으로 까칠한 슈퍼 히어로로 낙인찍힌다. 기피대상 1호로 떠오른 핸콕은 어느 날 PR 전문가 레이 엠브레이를 구하게 되고, 그는 핸콕의 추락하는 이미지를 회복시켜 주기로 약속한다. 그러던 중 핸콕은 레이의 아내 메리가 자신이 탄생하게 된 비밀의 열쇠를 쥐고 있음을 알게 되고, 메리와 가까이 있을수록 자신의 초능력이 점점 약해진다는 사실을 깨닫는데...
