Synopsis
A documentary profile of Ted “Black Lightning” Patrick, a specialist in reverse brainwashing
Director Mia Donovan meets the so-called “Father of Deprogramming”, Ted Patrick, who began his controversial practice in the 1970s. This popular practitioner of a self-styled ‘reverse brainwashing’ drew crowds of former cult members around him to help reform their lives after breaking free of their controlling groups. But some found that Ted himself began to take on aspects of a cult leader as his fame spread and vulnerable people flocked to him for help.
