Shame (2011)

Steve McQueen directs an unflinching portrait of compulsion and shame

Brandon maintains a sleek, detached life in New York, fuelled by a compulsive need for sex that keeps real connection at arm’s length. When his younger sister arrives unannounced, old wounds resurface and his carefully managed world begins to collapse. What starts as control soon descends into isolation, forcing him to confront a loneliness he can no longer outrun.
