Synopsis

Uncovering Bayard Rustin’s legacy: the tireless political activist who helped shape the Equal Rights Movement

Bayard Rustin was a multi-talented individual who dedicated his life to promoting humanitarian causes, fighting for civil rights and organizing labor unions. Despite being an often overlooked figure in the equal rights movement, Rustin played a crucial role as a strategist and organizer during the 1960s. He was responsible for planning and executing the March on Washington and he provided invaluable counsel to Martin Luther King Jr. This biopic serves to honor Rustin's memory and sheds light on his remarkable legacy as an openly gay Black man who was a tireless advocate for justice and equality.
