Heart of Gold

In 1969, a deserter from the U.S. Army is sheltered by a Doukhobor family in the mountains of British Columbia. Meanwhile, back in Houston his ex-girlfriend becomes increasingly militant as an antiwar activist. Their stories are told through letters they are writing to each other but cannot send, because both are on the run.
