After years working as a writer and director for German TV on notable shows such as “Tatort” (2006–2013), “Bloch” (2004), and “KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst” (2008), Edward Berger made his mainstream directorial debut with the movie “Jack” (2014) before going on to write and direct “All My Loving” (2019). He burst onto the international scene and won an Academy Award for the movie “All Quiet on the Western Front” (2022) before going on to direct the acclaimed political religious thriller “Conclave” (2024) starring Ralph Fiennes. He is responsible for directing the show “Deutschland 83” (2015), the miniseries “Patrick Melrose” (2018), and multiple episodes of the crime drama “Your Honor” (2020). Berger is the director of the movie “The Ballad of a Small Player” (2025), starring Colin Farrell and Tilda Swinton, and continues to work as director, writer, and producer of short films, music videos, major movies, and more.
