More than 75 years after the liberation of Europe, the visual documentary series VOICES OF LIBERATION takes the viewer back to the largest military campaign in our history. Unique diary entries, letters and other writing from that time provide a very personal perspective. Well-known hosts from various European countries retrace the liberation route followed by the Western Allies during WW2; from the south of England to Berlin. At the sites of historical events such as D-Day, Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Scheldt, historical footage now comes together with unique images of nature from the present day. The hosts give a voice to those directly involved, as well as share the personal tales of their (grand)parents, each of whom had a special story in WW2.
