Dr. Martin Gruber reopens his practice, and his patients confront him with personal and professional challenges ? all the more so when he himself becomes a patient at the Hall clinic. Much to the displeasure of senior physicians Dr. Kahnweiler and Dr. Vera Fendrich, he starts looking into his roommate's medical history from his own hospital bed. On a private level, Martin takes stock of his situation. He asks himself what he really wants. He left his previous partner Anne in a quarrel, and his newly formed relationship with insurance agent Rike is hanging by a thread. For the sake of the family-run farm, Lisbeth Gruber wants her son to reconcile with Anne.
