Starting his career as a professional wrestler known as “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson transitioned into movies in the early 2000s. His career as a wrestler saw him rise to stardom and cement his enduring popularity with his charismatic style and multiple catchphrases. He began his transition into the wider entertainment industry through appearances on songs such as “It Doesn’t Matter” (2000) by artist Wyclef Jean, and on television shows such as “That ‘70s Show” (1999) and “Star Trek: Voyager” (2000). His first movie role came in “The Mummy Returns” (2001), which he followed up with “The Scorpion King” (2002). He appeared in a series of action movies throughout the 2000s, such as “Walking Tall” (2004), “Be Cool” (2005), “Doom” (2005), and “Faster” (2010). While also acting in comedy roles in movies such as “Tooth Fairy” (2010) and “The Other Guys” (2010), it was not until his appearance in “Fast Five” (2011) that he achieved his first massive box office success.
