Dylan Southern focused his early career on documentaries about musicians, beginning with “No Distance Left to Run” about Blur and following up with “Shut Up and Play the Hits” (2012), which profiled LCD Soundsystem. He went on to co-direct the Netflix comedy special “Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive” (2013) before returning to investigate the golden age of indie rock with the documentary “Meet Me in the Bathroom” (2022). His first feature film, “The Thing with Feathers” (2025), is an adaptation of a novella by Max Porter, and it stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role.
