Beginning her film career with “28 Weeks Later” (2007), Imogen Poots was plucked from relative obscurity by filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to star in the movie alongside the likes of Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, and Idris Elba. Her natural skill in front of the camera was evident as she went on to feature in movies such as “Cracks” (2009), “Centurion” (2010), and “Fright Night” (2011). She continued by taking roles in a series of dramatic biopics such as “Greetings from Tim Buckley” (2012), “The Look of Love” (2013), and “Jimi: All Is by My Side” (2013). Refusing to be typecast, Poots went on to star in the action crime thriller “Need for Speed” (2014) before linking with auteur filmmaker Terrence Mallick for “Knight of Cups” (2015). She was executive producer for “Vivarium” (2019), which she also featured in, and starred alongside Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins in the award-winning drama “The Father” (2020).
