Synopsis

Western Australia is the centre of attention as Perth is struck by a power outage.

As Perth is hosting the Miss Universe pageant and a US space station crashes into the city’s suburbs, chaos descends upon coastal towns when a power strike plunges Perth into darkness. Three families find their marriages and friendships tested in this drama comedy series set in 1979.

Last Days of the Space Age is an upcoming eight-part drama comedy series on Disney+. The original series was announced in May 2022, in Disney’s first wave of original content that also included The Artful Dodger and The Clearing. Last Days of the Space Age is written and created by David Chidlow. The show is directed by Bharat Nalluri (Shantaram, Little America), Rachel Ward and Kriv Stenders. Laura Waters and Emma Fitzsimmons from Princess Pictures serve as executive producers on the show, alongside Chidlow, Nalluri, Chirs Loveall, Stephanie Swedlove, and Anna Dokoza. Please Like Me’s Christine Pham serves as series producer.

Radha Mitchel and Jesse Spencer star in the series as Judy and Tony Bissett. The married couple live with neighbours Eileen Wilberforce, played by Deborah Mailman, and Sandy Bui, played by Linh-Dan Pham. Sam Delich plays the series villain. The show’s supporting cast includes Mackenzie Mazur, Emily Grant, Thomas Weatherall, Aidan Chiem, Iain Glen, George Mason, Vico Thai, Ines English and Jacek Koman.
