The upcoming film will mark the fourth installment in the iconic Beverly Hills Cop series originally created by Daniel Petrie Jr. and Danilo Bach, continuing the saga that began with Beverly Hills Cop in 1984, followed by Beverly Hills Cop II in 1987 and Beverly Hills Cop III in 1994.
The original film stars Eddie Murphy as a street-smart Detroit police officer who arrives in Beverly Hills to investigate the murder of his best friend. The subsequent sequels all starred Murphy returning to the swanky city in order to execute a police investigation.
