Synopsis
George Foreman’s miraculous rise from fighter to preacher to becoming the oldest heavyweight boxing champ in the world.
The inspiring true story of boxing icon George Foreman and his incredible journey from poverty to ultimately becoming the World Heavyweight Champion at 46. Although a life-threatening event diverted him from boxing and towards religion, Foreman made a comeback and returned to the ring to support his struggling community. He accomplished a remarkable feat by becoming the oldest World Heavyweight Boxing Champion ever.

Big George Foreman is a sports biopic directed by George Tillman Jr. for Sony Pictures. It is based on the remarkable true story of legendary boxer George Foreman. Tillman Jr. has previously directed the dramedy Soul Food and 2000’s Men of Honor along with producing four installments of the Barbershop series. He is also familiar with helming a biopic as he directed 2009’s Notorious which depicted the life of famed hip-hop artist Notorious B.I.G. Tillman Jr. wrote the screenplay for Big George Foreman along with Frank Baldwin while composer Marcelo Zarvos handles the film’s soundtrack.
Khris Davis portrays the titular George Foreman after the director revealed a worldwide search was executed to find the perfect actor needed for the formidable task. Davis has previously appeared in Judas and the Black Messiah and Space Jam: A New Legacy. Sullivan Jones takes on the role of seminal boxing figure Muhammad Ali while Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker portrays Foreman’s mentor and trainer, Doc Broadus. Michael K. Williams was originally set to play Broadus, however his tragic death in September 2021 led to Whitaker ultimately portraying the boxing trainer. Sonja Sohn, John Magaro, Jasmine Mathews, and Lawrence Gilliard Jr., round out the cast.
