Reese Witherspoon returns to her scented reports in threequel with script from Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor

Legally Blonde 3 is an upcoming law-comedy directed by Jamie Suk for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It serves as the third entry in the Legally Blonde franchise which includes 2001’s Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde in 2003. Both films have accumulated over $266 million at the worldwide box office with the first installment serving as an inspiration for the Broadway musical and reality TV series. A direct-to-DVD spin-off film released in 2009 following two of Elle's British cousins. Reese Witherspoon served as a producer on the film. Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor helm the screenplay for Legally Blonde 3. Kaling is known for her role in The Office along with her role as the lead actor and writer of The Mindy Project. Goor is a writer and producer who co-developed the police comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Reese Witherspoon reprises her lead role as sorority-queen-turned-Harvard-lawyer, Elle Woods. Witherspoon is an Academy Award winner and producer. No other cast members are confirmed, however many have expressed their enthusiasm for potentially returning including Matthew Davis, Luke Wilson, Selma Blair and Regina King.
