Each day, stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb find a new adventure to help them evade the boredom of summer vacation, while Phineas’ sister Candace tries her best to bust the brothers in front of their parents. But the show’s peak popularity can be attributed to how inventive and wacky the creators have been with this simple premise. From ambitious backyard projects like building a rollercoaster in the backyard to extravagant challenges like painting an entire continent, each episode takes fans through a wild ride. In addition to the brothers’ adventures, you also have Perry the Platypus’ detective side quests to keep the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz at bay, which add their own layer of intrigue. All the shenanigans, science, and signature songs in early seasons are what gave the show its unique spark.
Take Two With Phineas And Ferb (2010)
Take Two with Phineas and Ferb is Disney’s version of a late-night, or early morning talk show. This spinoff series features Phineas and Ferb hosting their own talk show, where they amusingly interview real celebrity guests like Taylor Swift, Andy Samberg, Tony Hawk, Seth Rogen, and Emma Roberts, among others. The show also includes special crossovers, such as an interview between Phineas, Ferb, and Miss Piggy from The Muppets. The format is somewhat similar to Sesame Street's celebrity song segments.
Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension (2011)
Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension takes the charm of the TV show and makes it grander, with more intricate storylines and even bigger, high-stakes adventures. Viewers have always known about Perry the Platypus’ life as a secret agent, but in the movie, Phineas and Ferb finally discover the truth about their pet’s hidden identity. The trio ends up in an alternate dimension where Dr. Doofenshmirtz has successfully taken over the world. The brothers then team up with their alternate selves to stop the evil version of Doofenshmirtz. The Phineas and Ferb TV movie is an incredibly entertaining watch through and through.
Phineas And Ferb Season 4 (2013-2015)
For the purpose of this list, we’ve separated Season 4 of Phineas and Ferb from the earlier seasons, as it takes more risks and deviates from the traditional formula followed in Seasons 1–3 after the success of the film. Season 4 features several high-profile crossovers, including Episode 22 "Mission Marvel," and Episode 41 "Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars." It also includes more self-referential episodes and explores the storylines of supporting characters like Perry, Doofenshmirtz, and Candace in greater depth.
Milo Murphy’s Law (2016)
Milo Murphy’s Law is a spin-off series set in the same universe as Phineas and Ferb. The show follows Milo Murphy, a descendant of the creator of Murphy’s Law, who struggles to come to terms with the idea that everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Cursed by his great-great-great-great-grandfather’s discovery, Milo’s life is constantly at the center of chaotic mishaps and disasters. But instead of letting these get in his way, Milo, with the help of his trusted friends, finds creative ways to turn every disaster around with his undying optimism. Aside from one crossover episode titled "The Phineas and Ferb Effect," the show is a fun standalone series that fans of Phineas and Ferb will enjoy thanks to its shared sense of adventure and love for the bizarre.
Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe (2020)
After a five-year hiatus from the show, Disney released Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe. Set just before the events of the Season 4 finale, the movie gives the often-overlooked Candace her due spotlight when she is kidnapped by a group of aliens. Fed up with her brothers’ usual extravagant antics, Candace initially welcomes the attention from the aliens, until she realises they have ulterior motives. Meanwhile, her brothers Phineas and Ferb hatch a wild rescue mission to bring her back. Though the movie deviates from the show’s traditional formula, it was a welcome surprise, highlighting the strong bond the three siblings share as they come together on the same side for once.
Phineas And Ferb Season 5 (2025)
After nearly a decade of quiet summers, Phineas and Ferb are returning to a summer filled with wild adventures starting June 2025. Season 5 of Phineas and Ferb will follow the duo on many new escapades, hopefully including grander schemes, newer technology, and plenty of exciting songs and special guests. This new season marks an exciting comeback for one of Disney’s most beloved cartoon series.
