Synopsis
Ambitious wrestlers and sisters, Geeta & Babita, defy the odds stacked against them with the support & guidance of their father, bringing home a legacy larger than glory.
Based on the real-life story of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, Dangal is a sports drama that follows the trials, tribulations, training, and triumphs of Mahavir’s daughters as they grow to become world-class wrestlers under their father's tutelage. The larger theme is that of shattering the glass ceiling looming over the rise of female athletes and smashing patriarchal narratives that outline the remote villages they come from.
